This is a cooperative effort between the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Sussex County, the Vernon Township High School “Hunger Project” (VTHS Hunger Project established in 1997), and Pochuck Valley Farms. Vegetables are planted at the school by the students and MGs in the spring. The Master Gardeners tend to the gardens throughout the growing season, harvesting the produce and delivering it to Harvest House. MGs also collect produce donated by Pochuck Valley Farms and deliver that to Harvest House as well throughout the growing season. About 500 lbs. of produce are grown and harvested from the school garden annually. Pochuck contributes approximately that amount annually as well.
